Grey Finishes 11th at NCAA National Championship -- (5/22/09) --
Mike Gray fouled on his first two throws before a 150-00 toss
on his final attempt to finish 11th in the discus at the NCAA
Division II National Outdoor Track and Field Championship at Angelo
State University in Texas Saturday. Nick Jones of Abliene Christian
won the event with a 182-01 mark.

Mansfield University standout Mike Gray (Horseheads,NY/Horseheads)
will be among the top 16 discus throwers in NCAA
Division II this Saturday when he competes at the NCAA
Division II Men’s and Women’s Outdoor Track and Field
Championship at San Angelo, TX this Saturday.
Gray, who won
the discus and shot put at the PSAC Championship,
finished sixth in the discus in last season’s national
championship. He had the 16th best throw in
the nation (50.40 meters) coming into the meet after an
injury-plagued season.
The men’s
discus is scheduled to start at 3 p.m. central time at
the LeGrand Sports Complex at Angelo State University.

Wraps Up Regular Season at Cornell -- (5/02/09) -- The
Mountaineer men's and women's track and field teams wrapped up the
regular season at the Cornell Invitational Saturday afternoon
The women's 4x100 relay team of Abbie Waltz, Erica Ferguson, Brooke
McDaniel and Janelle Toter set a school record with a time of 49.29
at the Cornell Invitational Saturday. Freshman Nate McNabb qualified
for the PSAC Championship in the 800 with a time of 1:56.48. Other
highlights include Mason Teribury qualifying for the 400 hurdles
with a time of 57.97 while Ryan Detwiler (6-04.75) and Mike Gray
(165-04) each recorded season best in the high jump and discus.
