Michelle
Rohl, the wife of head coach Michael Rohl, is in her fifth year as assistant
coach for the Mountaineer cross-country and track program.
Specializing in distance
events, Rohl is the first coach in Mountaineer history to have been a member of
the United States Olympic Team.
Considered a premier
women's racewalker in the history of US track and field, Rohl has competed in
three Olympics.
A three-time member of
the U. S. Olympic team, Rohl competed in the 1992 Barcelona Games, the 1996
Atlanta Games and in the Sidney Games in 2000.
In addition, Rohl has
won 15 National Racewalking titles and has set nine American racewalking
national records.
A graduate of the
University of Wisconsin-Parkside with a BA in English, Rohl was 15 time NAIA
All-American in track and cross-country and two time NAIA National Champion in
the 1000 meter and two mile run.
The mother of Molly,
Sebastian, Ayla and Gabe, Michelle recently gave birth to her fifth child, Jude,
on July 24, 2006.
