For Immediate Release: Track and Field competes in PSAC Championships at IUP

Slippery Rock- The Mansfield University track and field team sent 18 athletes to compete in the PSAC Championships at Slippery Rock including two who are the number one seeds in their event.

Mike Gray is the number one seed in the discus while Erica Ferguson is the number one seed in the long jump.  Gray's throw of 167'7 also has qualified him for the Division II National Championships and he is also qualified in the shot put.  Ferguson is also qualified in the 200 and 400.

Also qualified for the men is Victor Garcia.  Garcia is qualified in the 400, 800 and is on the 4x4 relay team of Bryan Falcone, Joe Eck and Dave Sanford.  Garcia is the second seed in the 800.

Senior Chris Cummings is also qualified for the 800, seeded in third right behind Garcia.  Cummings is also qualified in the 1500, 5,000 and 10,000.

Fellow senior Dave Sanford is the eight seed in the 800 and sophomore Blake Smith is also qualified in the 800.

John-Mark Stoltz is qualified in the 1500 while Ryan Detwiler is qualified in the high jump and is provisionally qualified for the Division II National Championships.

Senior Katrina Brumfield is qualified in the 100, 200 and the high jump.  Brumfield is also qualified in the 4x1 and 4x4 with Jenelle Toter, Ryan Kelly and Ferguson.

Freshmen Irene Primmer and Brenae Edwards are qualified in the steeplechase.

Junior Katie Foster is qualified in the high jump, long jump and is seeded sixth in the triple jump.

Abby Gaiotti and Caitlin Morgan are qualified in the pole vault.
