FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Mansfield’s Yuseff Carr Named PSAC East Men’s Basketball Player of the Week – Junior scores 23 points in 83-73 season opening win over Bowie State

MANSFIELD --  Mansfield University junior forward Yuseff Carr (New York City,East NY Transit Tech) has been named the Pennsylvania State Athletic  Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division Player of the Week for his outstanding performance in Mansfield’s season opening 83-73 win over Bowie State.

Carr, 6-6, 284, scored 23 points in the win and just missed a double-double with nine rebounds. He also added a game-high four steals while connecting on 10-of-15 of his attempts from the floor as well as 3-of-4 free attempts.

Carr was especially effective in the second half scoring 13 points and hitting 5-of-6 of shots. It was Carr’s dunk with Mansfield leading by five points with 1:36 remaining that sealed the win for the Mountaineers.

Mansfield will host UDC on Nov. 24.
