Mansfield’s Kevin Miler named to Second Team ABCA Division II Atlantic Region
team honors – Chris Zelko earns Rawling/ABCA Golden Glove NCAA Division II
Atlantic Regional recognition
MANSFIELD – Kevin
Miller (Kenvil,NJ/Roxburg) was named to ABCA/Rawling NCAA Division II
Atlantic Region second team honors and Chris Zelko (Horseheads,NY/Horseheads)
earned Rawling/ABCA Golden Glove second team honors.
The announcement was
made today after voting conducted among the head coach’s in the NCAA Division II
Atlantic region.
 Miller
was named to the second team in the outfield after leading the Mountaineers to a
PSAC playoff berth with a team-high .399 batting average. Miller, who was
earlier named to second-team All-PSAC East honors,
Miller led the Mountaineers
in hitting this season and ranked 12th in the PSAC with a .399
batting average. His team-high 75 hits, fourth best in the conference, included
seven doubles and six home runs. Hitting from the leadoff spot for much of the
season, Miller also drove in 30 runs while scoring 43 times. He stole nine bases
in 15 attempts and led the team with a .426 on-base percentage.
 Zelko
emerged as one of the top pitchers on the staff this season. The sophomore
posted a 6-4 record with a team-best 4.26 ERA. He allowed 62 hits in 57.0
innings worked while striking out 33 batters. Zelko was charge with just one
error on the season.
